This module is designed specifically to meet the requirements of fee earners working in this highly structured field. As this area becomes deregulated, the need for solicitors to become more efficient in order to compete effectively against potential new providers is even more important.
By utilising agendas (workflows) with standard, pre-defined documents and forms, the user is able to complete tasks far more quickly and allows the process to be managed more effectively, ensuring that a consistently high standard of customer service is provided.
The system includes links into the centralised system diary, Mountain Software’s Time Recording and Accounts system (ledger card level only), and Microsoft Word to allow document and Estate Accounts production. There are also links to electronic forms to allow the generation of IHT200 and other tax forms.
A full profile of each probate matter can be set-up using tabbed screens that allow the Fee Earner to navigate the system quickly, entering details of the matter, personal representatives, assets, beneficiaries, liabilities, IHT200 and other tax form details. There is also a notes section.
Once the details have been entered, the user can apply an agenda (workflow) and, following the pre-defined steps, commence generating documents and Estates Accounts. These agendas will automatically produce the IHT 200 forms (and other forms) utilising information entered onto the database.
The system stores asset values at either estimated or actual levels as well as income at pre and post death values. As these asset values change, all beneficiary figures are automatically re-calculated. This provides an instant snapshot of where each beneficiary sits at any point in time.
