The diary provides the interface between clerks and barristers. It is quick and easy to use and
manages the administration and scheduling for all work. The diary and case entry are inextricably
linked drawing information from each other, with the case entry drawing cost, hearing and booking
information directly from the diary.

Automated Administration
Case Action Templates
CATs are a series of actions required to take place automatically
according to the particular type of case and funding arrangement. They can be
used to produce acknowledgment letters, fee note and reminder letter runs, as
well as “To do list” items. They automate many of the previously tedious processes
associated with clerking.

Meridian Law contains many reports that give chambers a good idea of debt
outstanding, payments received, work done and billed work. These reports can show
increasingly complex results and correlations depending on the user’s requirements. Other
more specific features are:
- Amendments to the diary and case entry can be monitored through diary audit report and the case fees audit report.
- Payment summary – Gives chambers the ability to look at all payments received on an individual basis, a specific team or collectively for all of chambers.
- Debtors report – Debt can be analysed in terms of bad debt, over a number of different date ranges.

Using your own resources for competitive advantage

Meridian Law provides a marketing module that is fully integrated with the details of the work received into chambers. This avoids the need to maintain two databases. The module which is included at no extra cost, enables users to record extensive details relating to both existing clients and prospects, and use that information to market them using the Mailshot function. Mailing Lists can be created from scratch for various chambers events and for mailshots, which can then be edited as required. Coupled with reports that enable users to monitor the work received from individual or groups of clients, users have a comprehensive marketing package at their fingertips.

Business Analyser is a tool for analysing data held within the Meridian Law application in many different ways. It allows you to build reports on almost anything you require from the software database. It enables users to break down figures (payments, billed work, work done, etc) to whatever level required. The main benefit of Business Analyser to chambers is that it can process very complex, powerful reports instantly and offers the user the opportunity to identify trends and make informed choices and decisions.
