Ian is a qualified accountant (FCCA) who has held board positions with MDIS Group plc as the Group Finance Director, Group Finance and Administration Director of Thomas Cook Group Ltd and Managing Director of Thomas Cook Foreign Money Ltd. He has also held senior roles with Geest plc and a major division of General Electric.

Ian joined Mountain Software in 1998. He has masterminded its growth to an £8m turnover company. He was responsible for the 2000 acquisition of the Coroners' software, the major acquisitions in 2002, which brought the company a 95% share of the Barristers’ market place and the 2004 acquisition of G.B.Systems in Scotland.
