In 2000, Mountain Software acquired a Coroners’ Records Software product which was then in use in 69 Coroners’ Offices in England and Wales. Mountain Software re-wrote the software from DOS DataEase to a Microsoft Windows application. Today 114 Coroners’ jurisdictions use the Mountain Software Coroners’ product.
Since the acquisition, Mountain Software has worked closely with Coroners to develop the system to suit the demands of this specialist field. It has continually added new products for this market place and has been rewarded with excellent customer loyalty and a growing market share.
The comprehensive document production, scanning and reporting system, enables information to be sent to the Home Office in standardised formats across England and Wales. Recently, Mountain Software has developed its data analyser product, which has greatly assisted reporting. It allows for trend data and analysis to be undertaken and for the Government to be given meaningful information, producing
a more accurate picture across the country. Mountain Software continues to work closely with the Home Office in this area, ensuring the functionality of the software meets the needs of the Home Office.
The software has many other invaluable functions, which have enabled processes to be improved and cases closed more quickly. In particular, it contains Court schedules for the opening and closing of inquest dates, court reports and witness and jury statement forms, as well as a personnel and contacts database and an expense/accounting function, which means that all the information pertaining to a particular case is linked together for ease of reporting.
Mountain Software's Coroners’ product is now in use in over 92% of Coroners’ Offices in England and Wales.
