Joel joined Landmark Chambers in January 2005 to take up the role of Chief Executive. He was previously Head of Consulting at BBC Technology and a partner in Arthur Andersen's Business Consulting practice before that. He brings a wealth of business experience to the role and a deep knowledge of professional services.
Joel has outlined his vision of how the User Group should work and this is laid out below.
Purpose of the User Group
The Meridian User Group will represent those people who share a vested interest in the successful deployment of Meridian software products in barristers' chambers. These people include:
chief executives/senior managers/senior clerks whose interest lies in business management;
clerks who use the software to support key business processes;
barristers themselves who use the software to manage their own individual businesses;
finance managers who use the information to calculate charges;
fees clerks who use the information to collect fees;
marketers who use the information to target clients; and
technology managers who have to keep the systems up and running and integrate them with other technology deployed in chambers.
The mission of the Meridian User Group shall be to serve as an open forum to foster success in the use and development of Meridian software products. To that end its activities should focus upon:
Sharing useful information and best practices
Discovering novel and innovative practices and techniques
Exposing issues and limitations concerning Meridian software
Providing feedback to Meridian developers
Leveraging its collective power to influence Meridian product development
Providing general support to its membership to accelerate mutual success
Requests for further information about the User Group should be directed to your Account Manager in the first instance.
